THREE HEARTS

Love is something which most of us have not experienced and even some of us deny its existence. But the fact is something different. We all experience this heavenly feeling when we see two people whom we consider next to God, our parents. Here is a small story which will help us, especially youngsters, to understand Love, which is Life.

Rakesh Gokhale, 26 years old, used to live in Mumbai along with his mother and grandmother. He lost his father when he was 11 years old. He was a teacher in a school and managed his middle class small maharashtrian family well. As he was an earning guy now, planning of his marriage was going on. Like everybody, he also had some expectations about his life partner and he was very excited about this.
One Sunday, while he was sitting in his room, his mother and grandmother came to him and told him some things. Listening to them he was shocked and moved out of the house angrily. Once Gokhale family used to reside in a small town near Mumbai and Mr. Shinde, their neighbour, was a very good friend of Rakesh’s father. He helped Rakesh’s family after his father’s death. The present situation was that, Mr. Shinde, a very simple and small town old man, gently asked Gokhale family to make Rakesh his son-in-law by accepting his daughter Gauri as their daughter-in- law.
When Rakesh’s mother told him about all this he was angry because he thought just because Mr. Shinde has helped them a lot he can’t marry his daughter, whom he hasn’t seen since 15 years. He went out and sat in a peaceful place for a while. His mind was full of his mother’s words about his father’s death, Mr. Shinde’s gratitude, Gauri and all. Then he thought if Mr. Shinde is a very good man, Gauri must be a nice girl and keeping in mind that Mr. Shinde has asked something from them for the first time, he decided to marry Gauri. He went back to his home and told his decision to his mother and she started crying, Rakesh thought she was crying out of happiness but her tears wanted to say something which Rakesh wouldn’t understand now.
Gokhale family planned to meet Mr. Shinde and family on Tuesday and everybody was excited that two very close families are going to be a single family now. Monday night Rakesh was informed that there is a very important work in school so he won’t be able to go and hence only his mother and grandmother went there. When they came back Rakesh asked his mother, “how is she?”, in an exciting way. His mother replied she is beautiful and she started crying. Rakesh was happy listening to this and he again thought that she was crying out of happiness and was unable to understand the voice of her tears.
The date of marriage was fixed and everyone was happy. There were small and nice arrangements by both families according to their financial conditions. And at last the day of marriage came and Gokhale family reached the town with some relatives and friends. Rakesh was very excited to see beautiful Gauri and as soon as he entered the marriage hall he saw the bride in a red saree and he was shocked after seeing her as Gauri was a very fat girl having weight about double of Rakesh. Rakesh was very upset after this and was silent during the whole marriage. When Gokhale family came back to Mumbai along with Gauri, Rakesh went to his mother and said you people played with my life by making me marry with this fat girl and he left the room. His mother was crying and her tears were saying same things as they were saying last two times to her that she has ruined two lives.
Rakesh went to his room, where Gauri was sitting and told her that he is feeling cheated by everyone and he doesn’t like her and this marriage at all and left. Now in the room there was a girl, Gauri, sitting silently and describing more about her, she was beautiful with big deep eyes having tears in them, a lost lovely smile and a very pure heart.
The house was silent at that moment, there were three hearts one filled with hatred, one with a guilt of destroying two lives but the third heart had something different in it, and it had Love for Rakesh. Being an Indian daughter having all good qualities and learning, Gauri had respect and love for Rakesh and this love gave her the power to bring the other hearts at their normal.
Next morning when Rakesh woke up early and was departing for school he saw Gauri worshiping God. As he started moving outside a very sweet voice entered in his ears, it was Gauri’s voice. She had prepared lunch for Rakesh and asked him to take the same along with him. Rakesh’s mother entered and told Gauri that Rakesh always had his lunch outside you don’t need to wake up so early for preparing lunch. She replied that she has a habit of waking early and preparing food for his father. Rakesh wasn’t interested in the conversation so he started leaving and took the lunch box along with him as insulting the food wasn’t in his ethics. This brought that lovely smile on Gauri’s face back. Although Rakesh missed this but his mother saw this smile and blessed her and the guilt in her heart started decreasing.
When Rakesh opened his lunchbox, suddenly he remembered Gauri’s sentence she said in the morning with her lovely voice but he himself ignored this feeling but one thing was sure that her voice was somewhere able to find the way to Rakesh’s heart. Then he had the food along with other people and everybody complimented him that he has got a very good wife.
Days were passing by and Rakesh was still ignoring Gauri and had hatred for her. But Gauri’s power of love of was still there and kept believing that one day that hatred will be replaced by love. One day when Rakesh opened his lunchbox he saw his favorite Gajar ka halwa in it and it was delicious and for the first time Rakesh had a smile on his face. When he returned back home for the first time he had a conversation with Gauri and he told her that lunch was good and she said with her eyes down and blushing that it is her birthday today. Both were silent for few seconds, Rakesh wanted to wish her but he remained silent. Gauri understood his silence and realized that her power of love is doing something. Rakesh’s mother was watching all this and she smiled. The guilt was almost gone.

Next day, Rakesh received a letter from Mr. Shinde. He cried after reading his letter. Is was something like this,

"Dear Rakesh,

Bless you son, you are a very good human being. You accepted my daughter at the time when nobody was going to marry her. I got a letter from her. She said she is very happy with you all. Your mother is a very understanding lady, she said. And she told me about you that you are very caring towards her. She also told me about the green saree you gave her on her birthday.

I feel very lucky to have you as my son-in-law.
Thanks a lot, Rakesh.
Sushil Shinde"

After reading this Rakesh’s hatred was gone and now he was feeling guilty for his behaviour towards Gauri. And he realised why his mother had said that Gauri is beautiful. Beauty comes from person’s heart, he understood this fact and decided to say sorry to her.
Next day when Gauri woke up she saw something in front of her. A green saree and a piece of paper written sorry on it was kept near her. She smiled and a tear was coming out of her eye. Rakesh entered the room and said, “I know I am the reason behind your tears” suddenly Gauri stopped him and said, “Rakesh when your mother came to our house when you were involved in some school work she told me about you that how you have earned a respectable position in society, I fell in love with you and this love gave me the power to remove the hatred from your heart.” Rakesh said “I had learnt something that Love is very happening and powerful at the same time. Thanks for being my life partner and one more thing, you are very beautiful.”

LIVE STRONG, DIE HARD

“The greater they are, the harder they fall”. A saying often used in daily life and a saying that best sums up the entire Armstrong saga.
Lance Armstrong (born Lance Edward Gunderson; September 18, 1971) was an American icon, a legend. A role model of the old “Never say Die” American spirit. As a cancer patient of I personally know the pain, the trauma, the hardship he must have been through. He was a role model for us cancer patients. He proved that there could be a life for us.  It was no simple reason I chose to go to Live Strong Foundation, his cancer support organization.
When Lance Armstrong celebrated his record-breaking seventh Tour de France title in
2005, he made the following prescient speech: "I'll say to the people who don't believe, the cynics and the skeptics: I'm sorry for you. I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles."
I was basking in the glory of this legend as any fan would. People believed that after he was diagnosed with cancer, it was the end of his career. But boy did they underestimate him.
Of his 7 Tour de France victories only two were won before he was diagnosed with cancer. The rest were won after his comeback. A testatement to the will power and mental strength of the man.
For much of his career, Armstrong faced persistent allegations of doping. Armstrong denied all such allegations until January 2013, often claiming that he never had any positive test in the approximately 600 drug tests he has taken over his cycling career. As a fan I was oblivious to all this nonsense. It is a basic fact about humans: We tend to find solace by thinking or idolizing something or someone in order to feel good about ourselves and to ignore our deficiencies. I idolized Lance Armstrong.
Until 14th January, 2013. On this day Armstrong publically admitted to have used performance enhancing drugs on a talk show.  Suddenly my whole world crumbled down. I did not know who to believe in anymore. And I knew that these wre not only my sentiments. There were others out there who could understand how I felt.

I still hoped that all this was a joke. His lawyers had declared Usada's report a witch-hunt, a persecution of their client "based largely on axe-grinders, serial perjurers, coerced testimony, sweetheart deals and threat-induced stories". The 1,000 pages of forensic evidence would suggest otherwise. Armstrong acolytes such as myself might scoff at the testimony of self-confessed dopers Tyler Hamilton and Floyd Landis, even if others would not. But the wording of the USADA report shook my belief.
"The USPS Team doping conspiracy," stated chief executive Travis Tygart, "was professionally designed to groom and pressure athletes to use dangerous drugs, to evade detection, to ensure its secrecy and ultimately gain an unfair competitive advantage through superior doping practices."
Armstrong, it was made clear, was not a helpless pawn forced by others to cheat to keep up. He was an instigator, a ring-leader and a pioneer.

My belief in humanity has been shattered. We live in a world of lies, greed and cruelty. And I’m sure there will be may such cases in the future.  The following quote by a certain journalist comes to mind when I think about Lance Armstrong

“Armstrong, a modern-day American icon way beyond the narrow confines of his tainted sport, is accused of not just fixing a race, or a match, or even a season. He has fixed an era. He has doped a nation.”

THE FALL OF HITLER

“Adolf Hitler is probably the last of the great adventurer -conquerors in the tradition of Alexander, Caesar and Napoleon.”

~William L. Shirer.

“It is obvious that the war which Hitler and his accomplices waged was a war not only against Jewish men, women, and children, but also against Jewish religion, Jewish culture, Jewish tradition, therefore Jewish memory.”

~ Elie Wiesel.

“We should never forget that everything Adolph Hitler did in Germany was "legal" and everything the Hungarian freedom fighters did in Hungary was "illegal." It was "illegal" to aid and comfort a Jew in Hitler's Germany.”

~Martin Luther King Jr.

Adolf Hitler! It is the name that influenced European history the most, the orator who made people forget their work and stand to listen to him relentlessly. And as Elie Wiesel expressed, he waged a war against memory of the Jews! That was legal in his rule! Of course, everything in the world is relative and he constructed a world where being “Hitler” was the only right thing to do! But the self-centered intentions and the hatred for a particular creed turned the person who could be a great ruler to a dictator. He is regarded as one of the cruelest figures, world has ever witnessed. Adolf Hitler lived from April 20, 1889 to April 30, 1945—almost exactly fifty six years. The difference between his first thirty years and the following twenty six years seems to be inexplicable. For thirty years he was an obscure failure, then almost overnight a local celebrity and eventually the man around whom the whole of world policy revolved. Who would expect that the most powerful individual, would end up killing himself! Quoting a famous dialogue, “Madness is like a gravity. All it takes is a little push.” But to make this madman perform such a madness on himself, it did not take a little push. It took the cruelest and most destructive war, the world has ever seen!

He found an ideology that allowed him to explain his failure and a target for his resentments. It is impossible to explain the precise cause or the exact beginning of Hitler's hatred of the Jews, but it is also clear that anti Semitism was the oxygen of his mental life. It was all too easy to transfer his impotent anger and frustration into race hatred. Once it had crystallized, it remained a permanent and growing feature of his character. He certainly took pains to cover his tracks and obscure his origins. Even in his body language, gestures such as covering his mouth and nostrils, repeatedly while speaking, to obscure facial features he felt to be "Jewish". The famous mustache was designed to draw attention away from his "Jewish" nostrils.

An inability to form loving ties with anyone corresponding tendency towards manipulation in relationships. This trait of Hitler can well justified by the event when, in 1939 he ordered the complete destruction of the Austrian village of Döllersheim. The tiny village, birthplace of his ancestors, was converted into an artillery range for the army and blasted beyond recognition by guns and mortars. Why did the leader of the Greater German Reich order the obliteration of his father's birthplace and destroy the site of his grandmother's grave? Perhaps Hitler was obsessed with the possibility that he was one quarter Jewish.

He was decidedly gifted, if one sided, but had difficulty controlling his temper. He was considered intractable and willful, always had to be right and easily flew off the handle, and he clearly found it difficult to accommodate himself to any kind of limits. He demanded unconditional subordination even from his schoolmates.

There were two enemies, both spreading their roots deep and finally got strong enough to kill Hitler! Where one enemy was the “Rest Of the World”, other was his inner self! Hitler was a symbol! And to destroy that symbol it took 6 years of global war and 26 years of inner war, which slowly and carefully encompassed him, his beliefs and his confidence and finally on April 30th, 1945, a bullet was shot by the hands of the most powerful mind into the brains of the most powerless man! Hitler shot himself, thus becoming ending an era!

TECHNOLOGY: CHANGING IT'S "VISION"

                        Through The Google Glasses

It wasn’t a long time ago that new gadgets like smart phones, iPhone and iPad created a wave in technology. And these gadgets don’t come along very often. But if there is anything bold, beyond the horizon and is capable of changing the face of technology, surely it is google glasses (can’t be called glasses because there aren’t any lenses!!).

These glasses look like a thin strip which is supported on ears and lies along eyebrow line. There is a small transparent block positioned above to the right side of the right eye which, of course, is the screen. On this screen (or a miniature computer) information, entertainment and this being a google product advertisement will be projected. The glasses use android software. These will be equipped with GPS and motion sensors. They will also contain a camera and audio inputs and outputs.

Location information is contemplated to be the major feature of these glasses. For instance, a person looking a landmark could see detailed information and comments left about it by friends and this is done by built-in camera on the glasses. The glasses reach the internet via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth which connects the wireless service on the user’s cell phone. The glasses respond to voice commands given by the user, when he touches the frame or when he moves his head. To record a video the user has to say, “ok, glass, record a video”.

There is humorous aspect to this story also. It will look weird to the onlooker when people are wearing these glasses. The onlooker can’t see what is going on behind the glasses and can only see bizarre body language and people ducking and dodging around virtual things.

The shortcoming of theses glasses is that they are not stylish. And to prevent the fashion faux-pas google is working on a partnership with eyeglasses startup Warby Parker (the company whose website’s home page says sturdy, sensible and sophisticated).

The major issue which people are concerned about is the privacy issue. It is being said that this new technology will make us all agents of google. These glasses will act like video surveillance.  When someone is meeting a person for the first time, for example, Google could hypothetically match the person’s face and tell people how many friends they share in common on social networks!

Google has kept starting price of these glasses at $1500. It launched Google Explorer in which a person interested in buying these had to write an article on If I Had Google Glasses and upload it on twitter. Few lucky ones will be announced the proud owners of these pair of oh-so-awesome glasses by google. So let us wait and watch how well does google fair in capturing people’s minds by these google glasses.

Writatouille

The Ratatouille of writing, anyone can write.

Can anyone write?
Had I been asked this question two years ago, I would have quickly said a 'no'. When I found myself reading about a writing competition anywhere, I simply would have walked away. I could hear someone inside me saying, "Writing is a talent I don't have. How do these people write? They must be having some spark in them." And today, I feel it is easy to write. I am not here to lecture you guys about how to present an answer you know in your examination. Rather, I would like to speak on how to create an answer out of the key word you heard just before you entered the hall. Yes, anyone can write. Given, you have something you desperately want to tell about. And the misinterpretation of it would be, “I desperately want to express, but I don't have something to". Instead, "I desperately have to express this thing, don't know how" would do. Write.

When and where to write?
"Time and place don’t seem to matter, but in reality they are fatter. Write when and where you feel or know, for around the seeds the plants do grow." an amateur writer waits for the moment to take over, the right emotion blending in thoughts. And he upgrades into a professional then when he takes over the moment and changes his mood accordingly. You must have observed if you ever tried, that there is a defined period of time over which the spark inside you remains lit. A similar logic can show why you need your surroundings to support the situation. Write where you feel it, when you feel it. A calm chilling night serves most of the ideas, given that your emotions are right.

How to write?
This question needed a precise answer when I started writing. You don't need Wren & Martin or the Oxford beasts to be on your table always. Given the audience, a work is expected to be written in a way so that the writer's message is easily and aptly conveyed. It is not about writing great words or long paragraphs, it is about writing exactly in a way your reader likes it. Much like not offering a great recipe to Mr. Ego but giving him the dish he was most connected to. And more important, write it in a way you like, because that is when the imprints of a given thought can be made clearly on a reader's mind. The choice of vocabulary and the expression of a thought prove influential in succeeding as a writer, next only to the fact that your dear reader is feeling, knowing and understanding what you want him to.

What to write about?
"The simple blue sky, the crushed blue tie, everything has a right, if you wish to write." it depends on what you want to convey, what is to be said to the audience, what you want them to feel as they read your work. To start with, choose something that is really close to you, choose your experiences. Then in stages, you can feel yourself moving on to write what you want your dear readers to know, then writing what your audiences want to know, and so on. The emotion is the mother of all writing. Write what you rightly feel and there you end up penning the greatest works. Often, it so happens that what to write gets decided when you experience it. And to be more precise, you need to feel something to your heart when you put it on a paper.

More things you need to know...
Being biased is humane. If you are speaking about anything socially active and common, make sure you will be comforted reading your thing even after years your write. And that you won't regret your choice today.
Critics are always there, anywhere and probably everywhere. So, be ready for them. There are people who say you don't deserve to be one, or that what you say is wrong. Just sing "haters gonna hate" loud.
What I write is my wish. For whom I do is my wish again. It's my life, my writing, my rules. Never care about what someone thinks, not even the one whom you are commenting about even.
It is the same for any art of expression, not just to write. Sing your notes, write your words, act your skits. Like no two people are alike, so are your expressions and ways of putting them. You are unique and so is your art.

Understand that you write what you wish to read. And make sure it happens. Have a happy write.

Déjà vu

Genre-FANTASY

(Starring SHANE as the main lead and narrator
Tammy as SHANE’S girlfriend
and Dr. Kevin Frankenstein as the scientist)

The biggest embarrassment in your life occurs when you go blank in front of a gorgeous girl. I was trying my best to restore myself to that place, but my mind took me to into a parallel world. Brain is an angel, but the mind designed by us is a devil in itself. Its complexity sometimes fascinates me a lot and shows me its unique creativity. That day it showed me something which completely amazed me in a million ways. I started remembering that the event taking place right now has previously happened sometime. Somehow, I came back to my senses but till then it was too late because the girl was already annoyed. Do you have any idea what it takes to bring a girl back to normal when you are not listening to her? Anyways, I figured out that in the best interest of both of us; leaving that place and conversation was a better idea rather than trying to achieve the impossible.

That night I couldn’t sleep at all. My mind wasn’t letting me sleep. I was cursing myself for ditching the conversation with Tammy, but my mind was more focused towards “Déjà vu”. Indeed, the thing that occurred to me is called “Déjà vu”. I found it on the internet. Just wrote my symptoms and got the most complicated name and theory I’ve ever heard. I read many reasons for these kinds of happenings, and of all the reasons I read; none of them gave me any kind of satisfaction. Later, I explored that many people suffered from the same psychological effect. I was seeking the valid reasons and its genuine effects because my enthusiasm lied in a thought i.e. “how we can use this exceptional gift for our own benefits?”

Now, you all might anticipate that my thoughts are senseless but it does make a lot of sense; only if you are willing to see it from my vision. The conclusion lies in the fact that, I can see the future at an indefinite time in the present. But, I cannot remember it instantaneously. I recognize it when it actually happens; and then I correlate it to a similar event that took place in the past.
Confused?
Let me make it easy for you. I can see the future. But, as soon as I observe it; the agent from Men in Black arrives and erases my memory. The funny thing is that my memory comes back as soon as the exact event happens again. Now, the thing which needs to be look upon is, “how can we save our memory?”
Is there any technique or method to save it somewhere else?

Well, after reading plenty of books on human and mind psychology; and surfing the internet for hours, I got loads of information. After combining and merging all the theories, incidents, experiments, case studies and personal experience; I came up with ‘Shane’s
Déjà vu Theory’ which states that
“We see the future in our dreams. The whole occurrence in the dream is stored in our subconscious mind. This was the prime reason we never remembered anything. And after a long time, when that particular event arises in reality; our subconscious mind makes us feel that it has occurred previously. For perceiving the future before it actually transpires, we need to get the entire data from our subconscious mind and it should be converted in the form of a video image.”
Despite giving such an extraordinary theory, I had no competency of building a device which can possibly record the dream.

Hence, for comprehending this concept in a superior way and for corralling the explanations to my doubts; I had to approach someone who was a genius in this field. A person who relied on the phenomenon’s which were beyond the bounds of possibility. The one who does experiments of science which can change fiction into reality. Someone who believed in triggering revolution in the
field of emotional and mental constitution; and of all the scientists this world considered insane, I picked up Dr. Kevin Frankenstein as my ace of trumps. He is the supreme person, who will fulfill my bizarre fantasy.

So, I finally visited Dr. Kevin Frankenstein and told him about my experience and my desire. My theory totally astonished him. The guy knew what I precisely needed. He assured me to fulfill my dream at any cost and told me to come after five years. I was astounded and disheartened. Five long years for a guy who is impatient and over excited? But I had to trust him since there were no other options left. Still, I learnt something that day i.e. ‘to acquire the unattainable, you should have the will to faith’.

3 YEARS LATER
I am active on facebook and doing the same old stuff i.e. adding random people specially ‘girls’. Wait! Actually all of them are girls. Suddenly, I receive a message on my mobile. It is from an unfamiliar number and as usual I’m getting Goosebumps because I’m assuming the sender to be a girl. Did u ever have a feeling of dismay and delight at the same time? Because she wasn’t a girl but, the sender was none other than Dr. Kevin Frankenstein. The great one wrote as I quote
“Shane
After the hard work of three struggling years, I have certainly invented it before the scheduled span of five years. Come and get it son.”

If Selena Gomez would have proposed me today, I wouldn’t have got as blissful as I am right now. Even Cloud Nine was beneath my feet. After getting this machine, I will command my fate; and I’m going to build my own destiny. The key to the future lies in my hand. I will never disclose this technology to the world, because I want to take the pleasure from almighty’s endowment immortally. Moreover, it might go in corrupt hands and could be misused. People may use it for aiding the society, the deprived; for assisting their country; for terminating a calamity; for taking discretion during hazards and disasters. But social service isn’t my cup of tea. I am narcissistic and proud of it. And from this very moment, I am going to live a life of a king.

I went to the secluded workshop of Dr. Kevin Frankenstein and noticed him standing near a machine. He had a devil smile on his face. Kevin asked me behold the machine until he comes back from some work. I rushed towards the device and started examining it without any understanding of the machine.
Suddenly, my mind went blank again. I became aware of the fact that this event has taken place earlier. Holy mother of God! This was
Déjà vu. And I recalled that in the end someone……
I heard a gunshot and there was a black out in front of my eyes. I couldn’t feel my head. Later, when I retrieved my vision up to a certain extent; I saw a guy holding a gun. Upon the clearance of the smoke in the air; it was finally revealed that the guy was none other than Dr. Kevin Frankenstein.

I was a victim of my own stupidity. Kevin would have never made this device without my theory. I promised to myself that I won’t proclaim this revolutionary tool to anyone, but I forgot that Kevin took the same oath. I placed confidence in the fallacious guy. All the dreams and aspirations shattered. Regret surrounded my hoggish mind. I was born proficient but got executed before I could receive a Non- Noble Prize. My endeavor was ineffectual. The pursuit to procure the impossible has lastly ended. These were the last moments of my immature life. I listened to his footsteps coming near me. And, finally he said the last three words to me.
“GO TO HELL”.

THE END.
